JOSEPHINE HARDING HILL

Mrs. Josephine Harding Hill died at 2 a.m. Tuesday at her home at 318 S. Washington Street following an extended illness. For a number of years, Mrs. Hill taught at the MIlls, Horace Mann and Tuttle schools. She also taught in township schools for two years. The Crawfordsville native was the daughter of James A. and Blanche Divine Harding. She married Robert Franklin Hill on Feb 5, 1941. He preceded her in death Dec 17, 1951. Mrs. Hill was a 50-year member of the Athens Chapter Easter Star No 97, a past president of the Crawfordsville Flower Lovers Club, a former member of Legion Auxiliary Women's Relief Corps, a member of GAR, Crawfordsville Dramatic Club and the Crawfordsville Music Club. A graduate of Crawfordsville HS, Mrs. Hill attended Hanover College, Harris Teachers College at St. Louis and also received training at Danville Normal school & Terre Haute State Teachers College. she held a primary life teachers license. Mrs. Hill had been associated with Avon Products since 1955. Survivors include a brother, James A. Harding of Chicago; a sister, Mrs. Paul B. Manson of LaPorte and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters and a brother. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday at Bright Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Wednesday. kbz
